Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, and his counterpart from Cross River, Bassey Otu, yesterday, met to resolve lingering boundary dispute between the two states as the Federal Government takes steps towards definition of the boundary.

The meeting of the two states in Abuja on Monday which was organized by the National Boundary Commission, (NBC) was aimed at reviewing the status of the boundary and discussing the way forward towards the definition of the boundary.

The Deputy Governor of Cross River, and Chairman of the state boundary committee, Peter Odey, expressed the need for the completion of peace talks between the two states, which commenced earlier in 2018.

Ebonyi State Deputy Governor, Patricia Obila, who led the delegation of the state, expressed the willingness of the state to embrace peace and end hostilities.

The Director-General of NBC, Adamu Adaji, urged the two states to be committed to peace, recalling that the Commission and the states had, in efforts toward restoration of peace in the warring communities of the two states, organised joint meetings in 2010, 2011 and 2013.
