Ebonyi government to introduce nursery in public school system

Ebonyi State government, at the weekend, said that it had concluded arrangement for public schools in the state to commence nursery school system in their premises.

Ebonyi State government, at the weekend, said that it had concluded arrangement for public schools in the state to commence nursery school system in their premises.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Dr. Zijl Nwangele, who gave the hint when he received the Commandant, Command Secondary School, Abakaliki, Col. Abulhameed Yakubu, in his office, said government would start it with some pilot schools in the state.

Nwangele noted that Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, had developed infrastructural needs of schools to a greater height and that the establishment of nursery in public schools premises was on top gear.

The commissioner commended the commandant for identifying with the state government, adding that the Ministry of Education is ready to work with Command Secondary School management to ensure quality, efficiency and discipline in the school along with other schools in the state.

He further appealed for consideration of Ebonyi children during admission of students into the school to justify its existence in the state.

The commandant, who expressed joy for the warm reception, said that his mission was to solicit co-operation of the state’s Ministry of Education and the Command Secondary School, Abakaliki, for better understanding by the public of the existence of the command school in the state.

He said Command Secondary School is open to the public and requested Ebonyi people to seek registration of their children in the school.

Also, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Sunday Okike, appreciated the management of the school for seeking state government’s support to improve the school and assured them that their request would receive proper attention.

The Vice Principal, teachers, as well as directors, zonal inspectors and area inspectors of education were present during the visit.
