Soludo made the call in a statement by the Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime to commemorate the Eid-el-Maulud, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Eid-el-Maulud, also known as Mawlid-un-Nabiyy is marked annually on the 12 of Rabi’ al-awwal in the Islamic calendar.

The governor said the Eid-el Maulud serves as a reminder of the Prophet’s exemplary life, teachings, and virtues of Islam,  which are peace, love, and brotherhood.

“I congratulate all Muslim brothers and sisters in Anambra and across Nigeria as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el Maulud festival.

“I call on all Muslim Ummah to reflect and live out the Prophet’s message of unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

“This is important to fostering an atmosphere of harmony, understanding, and mutual respect among people of all faiths in Anambra state and Nigeria as a whole.

“I  urged the Muslim community to use this period of celebration to pray for peace, progress, and prosperity of Anambra and Nigeria, as well extend a hand of fellowship to the needy and vulnerable in society,” he said.

The governor wished the Muslim Ummah a joyous celebration and prayed for a renewed commitment to the ideals of Islam and the overall well-being of the state and nation.
