Governor reassures commitment to inclusive governance
The Ekiti State Government has said that the Abuja trip involving many residents of the state, who accompanied Governor Biodun Oyebanji to submit his party nomination and expression of interest form, was at no cost to the state government.
It would be recalled that Governor Oyebanji was accompanied by an unprecedented huge number of state and national leaders, elected officials, and critical stakeholders in the state in a massive display of support when he travelled to submit his nomination form for the 2026 governorship election at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
The state government, which refuted the insinuations that the trip might have been sponsored by using the state funds, added that groups and individuals in the trip were responsible for their welfare out of their own volition in a display of their corporate and individual support for the second term bid of the governor.
Meanwhile, Oyebanji has reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance, stating that his administration would work closely with leaders at the grassroots and at other levels to consolidate development across the state. He made the remark in a post on his Facebook page, disclosing his meetings with past councillors and the 177 serving councillors.
The governor said that the meeting allowed for open and frank discussions on governance at the grassroots.
