Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has appealed to state governments to prioritise the involvement of professional engineers in engineering-based Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for efficiency, quality service delivery and best practices in infrastructure development for Nigerians.

It also lauded Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State for appointing seven engineers as Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and board members of various agencies.

In a statement by its President/Chairman-in-Council, Margaret Oguntala, the association described the appointments as a right peg in a right hole, given that the affected boards and agencies were engineering-based.

Oguntala pointed out that placing seasoned engineers at the helm of the institutions would enhance their effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring that technical expertise and best engineering practices drive infrastructure development in the state.

She expressed confidence that the newly appointed engineers would bring their wealth of knowledge, experience, and professionalism to bear in their respective roles, contributing significantly to infrastructure development, innovation, and sustainable progress on the Plateau.

The NSE boss stressed that strategic appointments would foster rapid economic and infrastructural transformation, ensuring that critical projects meet global engineering standards while also strengthening local capacity in the sector.

She reiterated the commitment of Nigerian engineers towards supporting initiatives that promote professionalism in governance and national development.

“The Society congratulates the newly appointed engineers and looks forward to seeing their positive impact in advancing Plateau State’s engineering and infrastructural landscape,” she said.
