It was jubilation galore for the entire family of the Ephphatha Assembly International, Apomu, Ogun State, as the church officially dedicates its new building for the expansion of God’s work and edification of the body of Christ on heart.
The occasion also aligns with the church’s 16th anniversary, which brought back memories of the little beginning since the church had been impacting lives.
The Founder/Senior Pastor of the church, Rev. Joseph Akinsola, said despite the challenges in the journey, the Lord, has been giving the church testimonies, resulting in its expansion.
He said: “Ministry is not a child’s play. It has been interesting and very challenging to find myself here because I was an Anglican priest before I received the call to start this ministry on May 20, 2009. We thank God for grace and it has been Him alone.
“This is a trans-generational church as a lot of things have been put in place and are still being put in place, the church has been assisting the community, impacting positively to elevate their standard of living and winning more souls for God.
In his sermon, during the dedication service, the Presiding Bishop of Rhema Christian Church & Towers, Ota, Archbishop Dr. Taiwo Akinola, who asked salient questions like – what is this building about? Who owns it? How can we maintain the glory of God here?, said from all beautiful edifices, adorning monumental places, only the church is called the house of God because it is the dwelling place of His glory.
While quoting Mathew Chapter 16 verse 18 to 19, “And I say also unto thee, that thou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church…,” the Archbishop said the household of God is the people on
“God will always reward those involved in building His house. All those who have been involved in this building, you’ll see God blessing them.
“Who is the owner of the Church? This is the house of God. Jesus said I’ll build my church, hence He owns the church. He builds it, He owns it, He keeps it and He nourishes it. Churches are modern city of refuge, let’s always be joyful to make the church a place of joy, not of mourning and complaints. Let the Lord be God over His Church.” (PIX-EPHPHATHA)
