Explosion hits Trans Niger Pipeline in Rivers

An explosion has struck a section of the Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP) in Bodo Community, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State, with the cause of the fire yet to be determined.
The incident occurred during a night routine patrol by guards on March 17th/18th, 2025.
According to reports, the pipeline, located in Zone One (1) of the area, is currently engulfed in fire, with nine guards on patrol at the time of the incident.
The guards were conducting a routine night patrol when they discovered the pipeline ablaze.

The primary cause of the fire is still unknown and sources said it is currently being investigated.
The incident has raised concerns about the potential environmental impact of the fire.
