FG plans to use drones in monitoring parks

The Federal Government has said that it is considering installation of drones to monitor activities in games reserves and national parks in the country to check illegal trespassing of national assets.

Conservator-General of National Park Service (NPS), Ibrahim Ogoni, who disclosed this at that 2019 World Ranger Day celebration in Abuja, said that discussions were on with the Office of the Defence Adviser for approval of the technology.

He also added that when it is operational, it would improve greatly the monitoring of illegal grazing, farming, bush burning, fishing, mining and other activities within our national assets.
