The Rose of Sharon Foundation has announced its successful completion of the transformative trainings, the Skills Acquisition and Vocational Education Scheme (SAVS) and the Enterprise Development Training Project (EDTP) for widows, orphans and the vulnerable.
The comprehensive training programme focused on equipping beneficiaries with invaluable skills in the creation and production of hair accessories, events planning, venue, and balloon decorations, digital and brand marketing, and financial literacy.
The Country Manager of the Rose of Sharon Foundation, Dr. Ndudi Bowei, reiterated the foundation’s commitment to these life-changing initiatives.
She emphasised that the primary mission of SAVS and EDTP were to provide these incredible women with vocational education and sustainable income generation skills.
‘’Through these programmes, we aim to eradicate biases and bolster the self-initiatives of widows, encouraging the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, job creation, and financial independence,’’ she said.
During the training, participants harnessed the power of knowledge and skills, which have become pivotal in navigating today’s fiercely competitive market and ever-evolving economic landscape.
Bowei said these empowered women had already embarked on their entrepreneurial journeys, utilising cutting-edge brand positioning and digital technology to establish their presence in their respective fields.
The Rose of Sharon Foundation’s Skills Acquisition and Vocational Education Scheme and Enterprise Development Training Project are testimony to their unwavering commitment to uplift the lives of widows, widows’ children, and orphans in Nigeria. These initiatives have opened new horizons, fostering independence and prosperity within these remarkable women.
