In a significant recognition of his outstanding humanitarian efforts, the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has been honored with the pan-African Peace Award by the Niger-Nigeria crew of journalists and the “Kasashenmu Abin Alfaharinmu” organisations.

This prestigious award acknowledges Governor Yusuf’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and promoting peace and development across the region.

The award ceremony took place in Tiliberi, Niger Republic, during the annual tree planting campaign, which coincided with the 64th anniversary celebration of Niger Republic’s independence.

The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including the military leader of Niger Republic, General Abdurrahman Tiani, who presented the award on behalf of the two pan-African organisations.

Other awardees for the awards were the Prime Minister of Niger Republic, Governor of Niamey State and other pan-Africanists within the West African region.

In a joint address, Maryam Ibrahim and Ambassador Abubakar Roja, leaders of the Niger-Nigeria Crew of Journalists and “Kasashenmu Abin Alfaharinmu,” respectively, highlighted the humanitarian services rendered by Governor Yusuf.

They praised his unwavering dedication to improving the lives of his people, particularly the most vulnerable, and his efforts in fostering a sense of unity and cooperation across the Pan African states.

“This award comes at a challenging time when insecurity plagues many pan-African states. It is a testament to Governor Yusuf’s diligence and steadfast commitment to humanitarian causes,” said Mr. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson, who represented him at the event.

He expressed the governor’s gratitude for the honour and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to supporting initiatives that promote peace, development, and prosperity in the region.

“The award serves as a reminder of the importance of humanitarian work in addressing the pressing challenges faced by many African countries. It is a call to action for leaders and organisations to continue working together to uplift and support the most vulnerable in society,” Bature said.
