The Ondo Elites Assembly (OEA), at the weekend, lashed out at Ondo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Razaq Obe, over the allegation that some persons within the state cabinet were forging the signature of his boss, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

The group said the allegation raised by Obe was an attempt to cause chaos in the state over his alleged ambition to be the deputy governor.
The General Secretary of OEA, Yemi Oladiran, in a statement, expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which the allegation of forged signatures was presented and supposedly investigated, stating that it raised concerns.

On Friday, Obe had raised the alarm about the alleged forgery of the governor’s signature on some documents he received from the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

In a letter addressed to the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to alert him of the development, the commissioner revealed that forensic experts had also confirmed the signature was forged.
Meanwhile, 24-hours after the claim of Obe, the state government was yet to respond to the allegation, as governor’s aides did not answer calls and messages sent over the issue.

The group emphasised that forgery is a criminal offence that should be exclusively handled and investigated by security agencies.
