
The South-South Initiative for Better Nigeria has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the recent appointment of a South-South indigene, Mr Udobong Ntia as the Executive Vice President, of Upstream of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
The group said the appointment recalled the “South-South of the good days of Adokiye Tombomieye as Executive Vice President upstream who was able to manage the internal affairs of the Niger Delta region.”
The group in a statement signed by its National Coordinator Mr. Jack Akpvwoghene and Programmes Manager, Ebitare Wellington, also recalled that the former EVP assisted the Managing Director of NNPCL Mele Kyari, in having a smooth relationship with youths in the region
The group also commended the President for the other appointments in the NNPCL including Mr. Isiyaku Abdullahi as Executive Vice President, Downstream and Mr. Adedapo A. Segun as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
According to them, the recent appointments into key management positions of the NNPCL demonstrate the president’s resolve to strengthen the company’s operational efficiency and boost its competitive edge in the global oil and gas industry.
“These significant appointments are a testament to your unwavering commitment to the Nigeria oil and gas sector in ensuring it meets international standards and boosts Nigeria’s potential as far as the Oil and Gas Industry is concerned.

The group, however, tasked the new appointees to drive impactful policies and programmes that will uplift the oil and gas industry.
