Group warns Dokubo against attacking Wike
The Rivers Restoration Movement (RRM) has issued a scathing response to the Leader of Niger Delta People’s Volunteers Force, Asari Dokubo, accusing him of spreading misinformation about the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and leader of Rivers State politics, Nyesom Wike.
In a series of videos, Dokubo allegedly described Wike and labeled President Bola Tinubu’s tribe as “betrayals” with plans for the Ijaws to align with the North in 2027.
RRM Director-General, Johnson Georgewill, countered Dokubo’s claims, stating that he lacks the right to speak for the Ijaws.
Georgewill emphasized that 90% of Ijaw leaders who supported President Tinubu and Governor Siminialayi Fubara in 2023 are now standing firm with Wike.
This allegiance, he stated, is evident in the fact that 90% of Rivers State Assembly members from the Ijaw extraction are with the Minister.

Georgewill also questioned Dokubo’s claim of spending $2 million to support Tinubu, pointing out that Dokubo failed to deliver Tinubu in his unit and did not support Fubara’s governorship bid in 2023.
The RRM reiterated that Tinubu’s victory and Governor Fubara in Rivers State was solely due to Wike’s efforts and his political family, with divine intervention.
Georgewill stressed that threats and blackmail have no place in Nigeria’s democracy, which is guided by laws and the constitution.
He urged the public to disregard Dokubo’s claims and appealed to political leaders in Rivers State to ensure an Ijaw man completes their tenure as governor.
