Less than two years into President Bola Tinubu’s first tenure in office, the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), backed by their Grand Patron, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), have declared full support for the President’s re-election bid in 2027.

Citing his administration’s economic and security achievements, HOSCOM passed a vote of confidence on the President to continue in office till 2031.

While addressing a press briefing yesterday in Abuja, the National President of HOSTCOM, Dr. Benjamin Style Tamaranabi, emphasised that Tinubu’s reforms have stabilised the oil and gas sector, reduced crude theft, and revitalised Nigeria’s economy. He highlighted the impact of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) in securing pipelines and restoring investor confidence.

“Tinubu has delivered. He has steadied the ship. He has empowered local communities,” the group stated, stressing that continuity is crucial for sustaining the progress made.He also urged Tinubu to intervene in the Rivers State political crisis, commending his commitment to regional development, including the South-South Development Commission and key infrastructure projects.

HOSTCOM’s President further said: “As Nigeria continues its journey towards economic recovery, stability, and growth, it is clear that Tinubu’s leadership has been a turning point for the nation.

“His strategic policies and bold reforms have set Nigeria on a path to prosperity, and it is imperative that we consolidate these gains rather than disrupt the progress made so far.

“Now and then, a leader emerges who understands the pulse of the people, feels their struggles, and dares to change the course of history. Tinubu is that leader.

“The weight of expectations was heavy when he assumed office. Nigeria was at a crossroads- crude oil production dwindled, and debt servicing consumed nearly all revenue. The naysayers scoffed: They said he couldn’t last six months.

“But they were wrong. With the audacity of a man who has walked this path before, the President rolled up his sleeves and got to work.”

In nearly two years, the results speak for themselves.” He said they took this position after a thorough evaluation and critical appraisal of the President’s performance in less than two years of his first term and in obedience to unambiguous directives of our Grand Patron, Dr Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, who also scored the President high in human development.

“Indices, especially as they favoured the Niger Delta region, say the host communities producing oil and gas believed that our President should remain in office till 2031 to enable him to conclude all ongoing development initiatives of his administration across the six geopolitical zones of the country.
