Presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries, yesterday, in Maiduguri, the police boss, represented by the Borno State Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar, disclosed: “This is a token to the wives and families of policemen that died in active service.”
He noted that the token could reduce the devastating effect of losing their loved ones and breadwinners.
Meanwhile, security has been provided at the various praying grounds for the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Umar, while briefing journalists on the Sallah festivities, disclosed: “The Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Garbai Al-Amin Ibn El-Kanemi, will host a Durbar at his Maiduguri palace on Friday (today) after the Eid prayers.”
He, therefore, urged parents to warn their children and wards against involvement in any criminal activity during the Sallah celebration in the state.
