IMAN holds confab in Gombe, elects Oreagba as president

Urges members to humanise healthcare service

Members of the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN) have converged on Gombe, the state capital, for the 24th national conference and elected Prof. Ibrahim Oreagba as its National President.

IMAN urged its members to humanise the healthcare system in the face of emerging technology. At the end of the weeklong activities, yesterday, marking the association’s yearly general meeting, over 700 delegates were in attendance.

There were paper presentations on holistic mentoring, complementary and alternative medicine, research collaboration, patient-centred care, among others.

Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, who lauded IMAN for choosing the state to meet, pledged to collaborate with it in delivering more quality healthcare to the people of the state.

Inuwa, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, said his administration had embarked on massive development of healthcare facilities and welfare of medical workers.
