Immigration expands contactless passport application in Europe, UK, Ireland

Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the expansion of its Contactless Passport Application System to Europe, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, set to commence on Friday, February 7.
Immigration spokesperson, ACI AS Akinlabi, made this known in a statement on Thursday.
Akinlabi said the expansion follows the successful implementation of the system in Canada on November 5, 2024.
“The Contactless Passport Application, which is currently available on Google Play Store (on mobile), is designed to allow Nigerians renew their passports without visiting any Passport Centre for biometric enrollment.
“The service, however, reiterates its commitment to innovative and efficient service delivery to Nigerians anywhere in the world.”
