Inconsistent waste data threatens Nigeria’s environmental sustainability goals — Expert
The Founder of Zgnis Analytics, Luther Kington Nwobodo, has said that inconsistent waste data has long stood as a stumbling block to Nigeria’s environmental progress, thus undermining efforts to meet international sustainability of the nation’s Development Goals (SDGs).
Speaking with The Guardian, on Thursday, in Asaba, Delta State, Luther Nwobodo, said when evaluating the impact of plastic waste in Nigeria, “we struggled due to the lack of accurate and comprehensive data across locations”.
This, according to him, somehow creates data deficiency that not only affects reporting obligations, but also discourages investors and limits public awareness of waste management initiatives.
Nwobodo said among other challenges, that there is need for a creative innovations to fill the gap, because the challenge of running a tech-driven sustainability platform, is broader implications for Nigeria’s tech and environmental sectors.
He hinted that Zgnis Analytics was created to address these challenges by providing actionable insights into waste and recycling data, stressing that the platform serves as a robust data warehousing and analytics tool, offering real-time waste data across various locations in Nigeria.
“Unlike other sustainability-focused applications, Zgnis Analytics is entirely dedicated to data generation and analytics, a niche solution in an increase.
