Indian milk tanker overturns, drowns driver

The police in Shivamogga district of the south-western state of Karnataka said the driver was unable to climb out and drowned before residents arrived.

Indian Police on Wednesday said the driver of a tanker drowned in milk when his vehicle fell into a ditch and ruptured the tank.

“The Karnataka Milk Federation tanker was carrying 2,000 to 3,000 litres of milk from the town of Sagar to Mangaluru when it failed to negotiate a sharp bend near Hosanagar town,’’ police said.
