The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) on Friday approved the promotion of 95 senior officers across four key paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior. These include the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The decisions were part of key resolutions reached during a board meeting held in Abuja on July 11, 2025.
According to a summary of the meeting’s outcomes, the Board also reviewed and decided on 224 disciplinary cases involving officers from the four services. Specific details of the cases or the disciplinary measures taken were not disclosed.
The Board also approved the constitution of a committee tasked with developing a harmonised Scheme of Service to streamline operations and ensure uniform standards across the services.
Additionally, the Board confirmed that it has finalised its recruitment framework for the services and the Board Secretariat. Online applications for available positions are scheduled to open on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Regarding internal career advancement, the Board approved the schedule for the 2025 promotion exercise. The process will begin in August and is expected to conclude by November 2025.
The Ministry of Interior has yet to release further details on the composition of the harmonisation committee or the number of new recruits to be absorbed into the services.
