The John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA), yesterday, said it would continue to promote the advancement of human capital development in Edo State public service.

The Director General of JOOPSA, Imuwahen Ajoonu, who stated this at a press briefing, said to empower and equip civil servants with necessary skills, knowledge and abilities remain a priority of the academy.

She added that JOOPSA plays a pivotal role in driving positive change and fostering a culture of excellence in public service.

Ajoonu said the academy has trained 5,000 people in Edo, and is targeting to make it at least 10,000 by the end of the year.

She said: “I am excited to announce the upcoming formal launch of the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) and the commemoration of his 84th birthday.  This milestone event marks a significant step towards the advancement of human capital development within the Edo state public service.”

Ajoonu said JOOPSA was established by the Edo State government to foster accelerated human capital development within the state public service.

She added: “Under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki, the commitment to this objective is exemplified by the construction of a world-class training centre.”
