There was joy in the family of an advertising executive, Mr. Adewumi Onanuga on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, as their 21-year-old daughter, Finutanoluwa, graduated with a First Class in Law at the University Of Essex, United Kingdom.

The ceremony was also attended by the former president, Goodluck Jonathan, whose daughter also graduated, as well as the former Guardian’s Editorial Board Chairman, Dr. Reuben Abati. Nasarawa State Senator, Wadada Ahmed’s crew was also in attendance.

As a matter of fact, the reason the Mr. Onanuga and his wife made the long journey from Nigeria was because their very own daughter, Finutanoluwa, was also graduating with the trio’s children alongside hundreds of others at the university.

To share their joy , Mr and Mrs Onanuga invited an Oyo Prince, Adegboyega Oladigbolu and his wife, to come and share the joy of the occasion with them.

Beaming with smiles and readily hugging others and posing for photographs, Finutanoluwa said she “feels blessed, thankful to “God” and “ very happy to celebrate” the “ occasion with my parents, my friends and my family.”

According to her, the “hard work” and “sacrifice” shehad to make “had paid off and to then have “God crowning everything makes me happy.” As for Mr Onanuga, “God has been faithful in keeping her well.” He disclosed that his daughter started nursing the ambition to become a lawyer from childhood when she first saw her uncle in a lawyer’s wig.

Expressing her joy for their daughter’s double achievement , Mrs. Onanuga said they just “want to give God the glory” and that she’s “full of joy.” The couple’s London School of Economics graduate son, Boluwatife , said he’s “proud” of his sister and also:”grateful to God” on her behalf.
