
All four emirates in Kano State have been directed to commence preparations for the Sallah Durbar Celebration by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The Sallah Durbar Celebration is an anticipated festivity in Kano, where people line the streets in their beautiful attires to witness their Emirs on horseback and exchange greetings with them.
According to Tofa, the governor will not allow any adversaries to impede citizens and visitors from enjoying the celebration.

“He assured the public that all security agencies in the state will be engaged to provide adequate protection for the people during the celebration,” said Tofa.
Yusuf also commended the Emirs for their positive and amicable relationship since they were appointed.
He noted that this was the first time in the state’s history that there was such absolute respect among the Emirs.
The governor added that the Kano State Emirate Council will be inaugurated in April this year to enable it to function effectively, adding that the council’s guidelines, ethics, and other crucial components will be communicated on the day of the inauguration.
