The Katsina State Budget and Economic Planning Commissioner, Bello Kagara, stated this on Tuesday while giving a recurrent expenditure breakdown of next year’s budget estimate.

Kagara said the state government expended about N19 billion to service debts in the previous year.

He added that N15.4billion has been budgeted for payment of pensions and gratuity for retired civil servants under the state government workforce.

He said the total recurrent expenditure for next year stands at N158 billion, with N70.4 billion expected to be expended on non-identified expenditure.

The state governor, Dr Dikko Radda, presented a budget estimate of N682 billion to the state House of Assembly on Monday.
