Governor-Nasiru-Idris

The Kebbi State Government has directed security operatives to arrest buyers and sellers of agricultural inputs provided free of charge to farmers in the state.

Governor Nasir Idris announced this during the distribution of agricultural inputs in Bagudo Local Government Area. The inputs were made available to farmers by a member of the House of Representatives, Bagudo/Suru Constituency, Muhammed Bello Ka’oje.

He said, “Security services are hereby ordered to arrest both sellers and buyers of farming materials provided by the government for agricultural production. You have no reason to sell them.”

“These agricultural inputs are meant to help farmers produce more food efficiently, yet some people have been trading them.”

Idris further warned the beneficiaries of the donated farming implements to use them to improve their farm output and produce, especially in irrigation farming.
