Kogi To Convert Accountants To Internal Auditors

The Accountant General of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idakwo, said yesterday that the State Government has started to block leakages, ‎through a comprehensive reform in its financial processes, saying the action was necessary for good governance and financial accountability

Idakwo, who gave the hints of the ongoing reform in Lokoja at the opening of a five-day training workshop for accountants to be converted to internal auditors, noted that the workshop would equip the participants with requisite skills in public finance management and control.

He urged Internal Auditors in the state to live up to their responsibility as the watchdogs of accounting procedures, adding that it would enable the state to have good internal control, check and balances in all its financial dealings.
