The Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) has said the ISO certifications got by it showed the important strides taken in revolutionising the education sector.
In a statement, yesterday, its Director-General, Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, said the obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification validated the agency’s exceptional quality in regulating pre-tertiary education in Lagos State while the ISO 21001:2018 reinforced its dedication to pupils’ centeredness and good quality educational services.
“These accomplishments mark extraordinary achievements for Nigeria and Africa, highlighting the agency’s unwavering commitment to bolstering educational standards and transforming educational landscapes.
“We have curated learning outcomes to inspire intellectual growth for our students. Our journey began with the challenging question of ‘Why?’ leading us to explore the ‘How?’ and ultimately inspiring us to ‘Create!’
“This quest for excellence has made us the first government educational agency in Africa to receive dual prestigious ISO certifications, a truly historic achievement for us.
“The Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) became the first government educational regulatory agency in Africa to receive both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 21001:2018 certifications, setting the record for the first state education agency in Nigeria to receive any ISO certification,” Seriki-Ayeni noted.
The DG re-emphasised the commitment of the agency to pursue excellence in its mandate, noting that the recognition would inspire it to continue pushing boundaries, making groundbreaking strides, and reshaping the education system for each learner’s betterment.
Seriki-Ayeni, who sought the support of stakeholders in achieving the agency’s mandate and building on its immense achievements, further said: “With your support, we will empower our students with the best education and equip them with the necessary skills to excel.
