Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, pledged to introduce more vocational training programmes as well as enhance digital literacy initiatives in the state by ensuring that every school has access to modern technology and resources.
The governor made this pledge at the commissioning of new block of classrooms at Ipara Junior College, Majiyagbe; State Junior High School Ibereko, Badagry; Awori Junior College, Ojo and Thogli Community Grammar School, Badagry executed by the state government through the Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS).
These milestones, he said, underscores the state government’s dedication to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or location, has access to quality education.
The governor, represented by his Special Adviser on Agriculture, Dr. Oluwarotimi Fashola at Thogli Community Grammar School, Badagry, said education must be inclusive and equitable, stating that this is the reason the facilities were built to serve every child in the community.
At Ipara Junior College, Majiyagbe, the governor stated that the projects reflect the vision to create an inclusive, modern educational system that supports the growth and success of all students while driving progress in the communities.
At the commissioning of State Junior High School, Ibereko, Badagry, the governor said the new classroom block represents more than just physical space, while at the commissioning of Awori Junior College, Ojo, the governor, represented by Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Tolani Sule, said the socio-economic development of Lagos is evident, including in the education sector.
The Chairman, Badagry Local Council, Teliat Olumide commended the governor and the Chairman of SCRPS, Hakeem Smith, for the infrastructure, urging the community and students to maintain the facilities.
