In a heartwarming display of appreciation and gratitude, the Lagos State University (LASU) past students’ union leaders, under the umbrella of Progressive Past Students’ Union Leaders paid a courtesy visit to the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello to honour them with award of excellence and achievement.

The delegation, comprising of former students’ union presidents, speakers of the parliament, and other executives, including the current Secretary of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja branch (Tiger Branch), converged in the Vice Chancellor’s office at the institution’s six-floor Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate building with words of praise for her outstanding leadership and contributions to the university’s growth and development.

Professor Olatunji-Bello, who has been at the helm of LASU since 2021, has implemented various initiatives aimed at enhancing the university’s academic excellence, infrastructure, and student welfare. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed, as evident in the accolades poured out by the past students’ union leaders.

Your commitment to the growth and development of LASU has been inspiring, and we are proud to have you as our Vice Chancellor.”

“We hope that this award will serve as a reminder of our gratitude and appreciation for your leadership. We are confident that your continued leadership will take LASU to even greater heights,” said Ayodeji Olabiwonnu, current Secretary, Nigeria Bar Association, Ikeja branch (Tiger branch) and Managing Partner, The Legal Hub Partnership, a Nigerian full service law firm providing bespoke legal service and customised advisory to a global clientele.

“We may have graduated, but our love and loyalty for LASU remain strong. We are committed to supporting the university in any way we can, and we look forward to continued partnership and collaboration.” said a former president of the union, Comrade Omisore Michael
