Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, yesterday, said his administration would put more structures in place in the next few days for sustainable development.
Makinde gave the promise while playing host to Muslim leaders in his house, on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir. The governor, who appreciated the Muslim community in Oyo State for standing by his administration during Omituntun 1.0, promised to roll out the names of some new appointees very soon.
EARLIER, the PDP’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, thanked the governor for empowering the people of the state and executing laudable projects.
Arapaja, who lauded the governor for exemplifying the virtue of Prophet Ibrahim, said Makinde kept his promise to the people of Oyo State in his first term. He, therefore, expressed confidence that the governorwould not deviate from that style in Omituntun 2.0.
MEANWHILE, the Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has urged Muslims and residents of the state, in the spirit of the Eid-el-Kabir festival, to pray for quick recovery of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu that is on medical leave.
Aiyedatiwa, who emphasised that the special season should be used to pray for success of the administration, said Akeredolu would soon be back in the state.
In a Sallah message, the acting governor urged the Muslim community and Nigerians to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, togetherness, patriotism and selflessness to ensure development, a virile and economically-viable country.
On his part, the immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, called on Nigerians of diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds to continue accommodating one another.
ALSO, the member representing Ondo State on the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Gbenga Edema, has urged all residents of the state, regardless of their faith and ethnicity, to offer prayers for Akeredolu.
Edema, in a statement by his spokesman, Dr. Tob Loko, also sought support for President Bola Tinubu, saying that the country and the entire citizenry will benefit immensely from the steps taken so far.
