Minimum wage due for review next month, says TUC
Govt pledges to continue dialogue until agreement is reached
The Trade Union Congress (TUC) yesterday told the Federal Government that it should prepare to increase the minimum wage from the present N18, 000, as it will be due for review next month.
The union has also asked the government to review the sale of electricity distribution companies because those who bought them were profiteers, who have not brought in money to develop the power sector; the way telecom companies did in their sector.
However, from Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN came an assurance to continue the dialogue with the workers until an agreement is reached.
Osinbajo further assured that the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is in government purely for the Nigerian people and is always open to talk and dialogue.
