Shuts water factory for producing, aiding sale of products with fake NAFDAC number

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted the public on the activities of a faith-based organisation, Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, allegedly using NAFDAC’s name to deceive the unsuspecting public.

Consequently, NAFDAC Investigation and Enforcement Department has sealed the Globod Table Water factory for alleging aiding and abetting the production, sale and advertisement of unregistered and unwholesome miracle water with a fake NAFDAC Registration Number.

The agency advised Nigerians to stop patronising any of these miracle products, stressing that from the agency’s investigations, none of the products being advertised and sold by the Church is registered with NAFDAC.

It also warned faith organisations against the production of regulated products without requisite requirements.

Recall that there has been an ongoing feud between Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin and a Social media activist, Martins Otse Vincent, popularly known as Very Dark Man, after the latter called out the clergyman for exploiting his church members by selling the healing products to them. He also accused him of selling items without NAFDAC approval.

Following the criticisms that trailed the sale of spiritual products to members, Fufeyin announced that the items would be given to his church members free of charge.

In a statement, yesterday, in Abuja, Director General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, noted that the agency has been inundated with petitions on Miracle Water and Miracle Soap being advertised with healing and miracle claims and sold to unsuspecting members of the public by the spiritual ministry.

She alleged that Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyi has been showcasing the use of Miracle Water and Miracle Soap on social media to heal barrenness, openly telling his congregation that the soap is NAFDAC registered.
