The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has appealed to the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to resuscitate Ajaokuta Steel Company (ASC), if elected president of the country.

Making the call in Lokoja, Kogi State, during the PDP presidential rally, yesterday, Akpoti-Udughan said a working ASC would reposition the country’s economy and help the citizens to break the chains of administrative slavery and create job opportunities for the youths.

“As we join you to campaign, I trust that on February 25, 2023, God is going to grant us victory. So, we urge you, on behalf of Kogi indigenes, to make the following pledges; that you are going to make Ajaokuta Steel Company work, so that jobs will be created and revenue generated.

This will pull us out of poverty, administrative slavery and we assume the status of worthy indigenes of this great country.”

“We trust, Your Excellency, that you are going to create the Confluence Port, so that Kogi will become the pivotal part of the northern part of Nigeria. We also trust that our women, children and every one involved in any business will have robust ecosystem that will support the entrepreneurs of our state, that grants and scholarships will be given to our system to enable a self-sustaining populace,” she said.

The senatorial faithful noted, specifically, that the resuscitation of ASC is key to unlocking Nigeria’s industrial revolution.

She thanked Kogi people for trooping out in their numbers to support Atiku and the PDP, urging them to vote without fear or favour, without any form of sentiment, as Atiku the PDP’s victory would herald the pathway to a new Nigeria.
