Navy redeploys senior officers as Edo, others get new CPs
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has redeployed 110 senior officers, including 33 rear admirals and 77 commodores.
A statement yesterday in Abuja by the Director of Naval Information, Commode Suleiman Dahun, indicated that the new Chief of Policy and Plans, Naval Headquarters, is Rear Admiral Ifeola Mohammed, taking over from Rear Admiral Obi Ofodile, who headed for the Defence Headquarters as Chief of Defence Administration.
This comes as the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, ordered the immediate posting of eight new commissioners of police.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, the CPs are Undie J. Adie for Osun State; Johnson Babatunde Kokumo (Edo); Lawal Jimeta (Bauchi); Philip Sule Maku (Ebonyi); Ahmed Maikudi Shehu (Gombe) and Bolaji Amidu Salami (Ondo).
Others are: Nwachukwu Enwonwu, (Oyo); Evelyn T. Peterside, CP Eastern Port; Okon Etim Ene, CP EOD; Bello Maikwashi, CP Airport Command, and Olukolu Tairu Shina, CP Anti-Fraud Unit (FCID Annex Lagos).
A further breakdown of the naval appointments shows that Rear Admiral Matthew Emuekpere, formerly Deputy Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, moves to Naval Headquarters as Chief of Naval Transformation. Rear Admiral Ahamefule Eluwa, who was a Directing Staff at National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru Jos, resumes as Admiral Superintendent Naval Doctrine and Assessment Centre.
The reoorganisation also affected Rear Admiral Segun Adebari, who has been posted to Defence Headquarters as Director of Plans from the Nigerian Navy Holdings Limited.
The erstwhile Director of Development Defence Headquarters, Rear Admiral Abubakar Al-Hassan is Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordnance Depot, while Rear Admiral Francis Isaac emerged new Navy Secretary at Naval Headquarters.
Rear Admiral Abdullahi Adamu, the immediate past Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordnance Depot, moves to Defence Headquarters as Director of Search and Rescue. Rear Admiral Maurice Eno, who was the Admiral Superintendent Naval Doctrine and Assessment Centre, has been posted to Defence Headquarters as Director of Development.
Rear Admiral Frederick Ogu, ex-Navy Secretary Naval Headquarters, is the reigning Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command.
