Charges leaders to eschew vendetta
The Lord Bishop of Church of God Mission International, Bishopric Headquarters, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Rt. Rev. Matthew Egwowa, has declared that Nigeria is turning into a better country, after the trial period she is passing through.
Assuring Nigerians that there is hope, the Cleric made the prediction yesterday during the on-going 2016 Lagos Bishopric Convention with the theme: “Empowered to Occupy” at the Bishopric Headquarters, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos.
He said: “It may be rough and bad now, I believe that God owns the country and He is working on the nation. One thing about God is that He can use anybody to achieve His goal. The Bible is replete with this fact. It is not about the person sitting on the throne of presidency, it is about God.
“However, I want to say that all our leaders today should be conscious of the fact that the country is not their property. The country belongs to God and everyone, including all the leaders, would give account of how they managed the position God gives to him.
“Every one who is occupying any position to day is privileged by God and should not use the opportunity as a personal vendetta to revenge on previous offences, but to use the office to serve humanity, by positively and profitably contributing to the betterment of the nation and the life of every Nigerian.”
