A Badagry Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded a 30-year-old hearing-impaired man, Temitope Holo, in the Awarjigoh correctional facility for alleged defilement of a 17-year-old girl.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, who did not take the defendant’s plea, directed the police to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice. He, thereafter, adjourned to April 2 for mention.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that the defendant committed the offences in July 2024 at No. 18, Oba Beyioku Street, beside Winners’ Chapel, Badagry, Lagos.

Adeosun said the defendant unlawfully removed the girl’s pants and penetrated her private part with his finger without her consent.

The offences contravene Sections 261 and 263 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
