Group applauds Tinubu’s choice of Adedokun as BPP Director General
The Core Public Servants (CPS), an influential group advocating for good governance, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s decision to appoint Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, PhD, as the Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP). In a congratulatory message signed by CPS’s Kudirat Akindero, the group praised Tinubu’s commitment to due process, lauding the selection of a distinguished procurement officer to lead the agency.
Adedokun’s career reflects over two decades of dedicated service to public procurement and reform, backed by impressive academic achievements, including a doctorate in Procurement and Supply Chain Management and four master’s degrees across Procurement, Finance, Technology, and Transportation Management. His wide-ranging experience and in-depth knowledge are expected to bolster BPP’s mission of ensuring transparency and efficiency in government procurement practices.

He has also served as Nigeria’s representative on the International Research Study on Public Procurement and as a World Bank resource person on sustainable procurement. His focus on capacity building has led him to train over 4,000 procurement professionals across various levels of government.
Beyond his public service roles, Adedokun is actively engaged in initiatives aimed at empowering women in procurement through the UN Women Project in Nigeria. Additionally, he led the Sustainable Procurement, Environmental, and Social Standards Enhancement (SPESSE) initiative in collaboration with the World Bank.
