A MILITANT group, the 21st Century Youths of the Niger Delta and Agitators with Conscience (21st CYNDAC), has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for sacking the sole administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Effiong Akwa.

According to it, the sack of Akwa is a welcome development and a bold set to rekindle the hope of Niger Delta people.
A statement signed by Izon Ebi stated: “The directive of President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately swear in new board members is highly commendable as the board is made up distinguished personalities of impeccable characters and integrity.

“We, therefore, urge the President to immediately inaugurate the substantive board of the NDDC to hit the ground running.

“Further delay in the inauguration of the new board of the NDDC will give room for fertile ground for ineptitude, subterfuge and corruption that will erode the gains of the forensic audit report submitted to the President.”

“We, therefore, look forward to the inauguration of the substantive board that was screened and confirmed by the Senate”
