The Consul-General of India, in Lagos, Ambassador Chandramouli Kumar Kern, has reiterated the determination of his country to partner Nigeria on economic development and technological transfer.

Kern, who spoke, at the weekend, during the first public lecture organised by the Faculty of Engineering, Lead City University (LCU), Ibadan, said Nigeria remains the giant of Africa and would therefore continues to be a leading partner of the Asian leading democracy.

The ambassador, who was chairman of the event, called for massive investment in technology, infrastructure and knowledge transfer.

He said the country had all indices to be great and maintain its status as the giant of Africa.

ALSO, a former Director-General, Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Lagos, Prof. Bola Akinterinwa, who was the guest lecturer, however said the country could only continue to be the giant when there is good governance and tackling of insecurity with sincerity of purpose.

He, therefore, urged President Bola Tinubu to show sincerity and provide good governance.

Earlier, Vice Chancellor of LCU, Prof. Kabiru Aderemi Adeyemo, urged the President to develop a well-crafted foreign policy framework that could create an enabling environment for collaboration, exchange and mutual growth, as well as propelling Nigeria into the forefront of technological advancement.

The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Babatunde Emmanuel, said the programme was significant as an intellectual intervention for the purpose of national re-orientation.
