Air Force eliminates Boko Haram terrorists in Borno
On October 25, 2024, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) airstrikes successfully targeted and eliminated numerous Boko Haram terrorists in Bula Marwa, Borno State.
The NAF identified Bula Marwa as a meeting point for high-profile Boko Haram leaders. Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions confirmed increased terrorist activity in the area, with reports of motorcycles and groups of armed combatants gathering.
In response, NAF fighter jets were dispatched for an air interdiction mission. According to NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, ISR footage captured suspected terrorists congregating at a rendezvous point on 12 motorcycles, which led to a primary meeting site with additional militants present.
The first airstrike effectively targeted this group. Shortly after, ISR aircraft observed terrorists returning to assess the damage and evacuate their wounded. NAF air assets conducted follow-up strikes, neutralising more militants.
Building on this success further, ISR identified another group of terrorists under a large tree at a second meeting site. After verification, NAF air assets executed a precision strike on this location, achieving a direct hit and neutralising several terrorists.
These air operations significantly disrupted planned terrorist activities, destroying multiple fighters and their motorcycles, which hampers their ability to launch ambushes or other attacks.
This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI to eliminate terrorist activities in northeastern Nigeria.
The NAF remains steadfast in its commitment to conducting precise operations—jointly or independently—to eradicate terrorism and protect the sovereignty and security of the nation.
