NASU FCE Special Oyo tasks FG on workers’ welfare
The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), FCE Special Oyo, has called on the federal government to prioritise workers’ welfare in the new year.
Chairman of the Union, Comrade Badmus Tolulope Adekunle, in an end of the year statement, called on the government to offset outstanding workers’ 25/35% arrears, minimum wage, peculiar academic and non-academic allowance arrears, and wage awards to improve the living standards of workers and their families.
Adekunle also charged President Bola Tinubu’s administration to invest in critical infrastructure, such as healthcare, education, and transportation, to improve the overall quality of life for citizens, while calling for the equitable distribution of subsidized food items, which are meant to alleviate the economic hardships faced by workers.
“The Union is urging the government to implement policies that foster entrepreneurship, stimulate economic growth, and create sustainable employment opportunities. The Union stresses that the government has a responsibility to ensure that citizens can live dignified lives, free from avoidable hardships.
“It calls for bold, decisive measures to alleviate the struggles faced by ordinary Nigerians and deliver much-needed relief. As the nation embarks on a new year, NASU FCE Special Oyo’s message serves as a clarion call for collective action to build a brighter, more equitable future,” Adekunle said in a statement.
