Ogun to begin statewide road maintenance

The Ogun State Government has announced the commencement of a comprehensive road maintenance programme across all local government areas.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Works, Engr. Babatunde Adesina, disclosed the initiative on Tuesday during an inspection of the Leme–Abiola Way–Madojutimi road in Abeokuta.

According to Adesina, the road maintenance project reflects the administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure, enhancing mobility, and addressing the poor state of some key roads in order to ease the burden on commuters.

Adesina added that the Abiodun-led administration is prioritising both urban and rural road projects as a way of supporting local businesses, improving community connectivity, and boosting economic growth across the state.

“We will ensure that all parts of the state’s roads are touched by the road maintenance gang as the present administration is determined to make road networks across Ogun State accessible and durable.” Adesina said.

“The exercise is not just about patching roads; it is about making life easier for our people and supporting commerce.

“Better roads will translate into reduced travel time, safer journeys, and stronger economic activities for our communities.”
