Police recover stolen vehicle, arrest two suspects in Taraba

Operatives of the Taraba State Police Command have recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux vehicle and arrested two suspects in connection with the theft.

The development was confirmed on Monday in a statement released to journalists by the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP James Lashen Saminu.

According to the statement, the incident occurred on August 28, 2025, following intelligence received from the Commander of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Kano State.

The report, as further revealed by the command, indicated that a white Toyota Hilux without a plate number had been stolen from one Mr. Murtala Musa, a resident of No. 6 Dutse Road, Kano, and was believed to be heading toward Jalingo.

“Acting swiftly on the intelligence, operatives of the Taraba State Anti-Kidnapping Squad mounted surveillance and successfully intercepted the vehicle in the Di-Nyavoh area of Jalingo.

“Two individuals, Yallah Kadara of Anguwan Kasa and Sa’ad Bello, were found in possession of the vehicle and were promptly arrested,” the statement read.

The police also confirmed that the case is currently under investigation.

Commending the swift action of the operatives, the state commissioner of police, Betty Enkpen Isokpan Otimenyin, reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring peace and security across Taraba State.

She urged members of the public to continue supporting the police by providing timely and accurate information, emphasising that community collaboration is essential in tackling crime and maintaining public safety.
