The African Climate Foundation has granted the Nasarawa State Government a $160,000 Climate Investment Platform (CIP) to help combat environmental challenges in the state.
The Managing Director of the Nasarawa State Investment Development Agency (NASIDA), Ibrahim Abdullahi, in a meeting with stakeholders, said that the CIP will enable clean energy in the state.
According to Abdullahi, the climate investment platform would bring together projects that align with the state’s ambition of transitioning to cleaner energy solutions, a situation that would enhance climate-smart agriculture, construction, and other climate-related initiatives.
He said, “The CIP is a key component of a broader strategy to position Nasarawa State as a leading destination for climate-smart investment.”
A member of the representative group of the project, Murty International, Sesan Adedapo, said that the project includes creating a science-based climate policy and action plan for Nasarawa.
Adedapo said the platform would also provide a climate financing strategy to attract local and international investors to the state, provide technical assistance, and support local businesses in adopting energy-efficient technologies.
