DIRECTOR General, National Orientation Agency, Mr. Mike Omeri, yesterday in Abuja urged Nigerians to work collectively towards the realisation of a more united and prosperous country.

Omeri said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that such collective action was necessary for the nation to attain its full potentials.
“Patriotism is about doing to others what you would have them do unto you and about being one’s brother’s keeper. We have only two options as Nigerians: Unity and harmony.”

“You will recall that President Muhammadu Buhari in his inaugural speech said `Nigeria has a window of opportunity to fulfill our long standing potential by pulling ourselves together and realising our mission.”

“We must, therefore, pull our collective resources together to attain the desired height as a people and as a country.”
Omeri also urged Nigerians to promote values that would enhance national unity and portray Nigeria positively.

“We want to project the beauty of this nation as well as the talents that abound here by doing the right thing without having to be forced to do so. We should not adopt a lazy attitude or wait to be pushed or forced to do the right thing.’’

The D-G called on all Nigerians to look inwards and offer suggestions that would engender peace, progress and harmony in the country.
