The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Non-Indigenes of South, Benue and Plateau states in Osun State, Michael Nworie, has promised to be transparent in all his dealings as it concerns the non-indigenes.

Nworie made the pledge during a meeting with stakeholders and tribal leaders of non-indigenes of South, Benue and Plateau states in Ede, Osun State.

The meeting had in attendance executives of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Osun State chapter, leaders of Tiv community, Igede community, Akwa Ibom, Cross River State and other stakeholders of non-indigenes of South in the state.

He also gave accounts of the federal and state governments’ palliatives and programmes that non-indigenes have benefited so far through his office, which include but not limited to bags of rice shared among all the tribes, state and federal empowerment programmes, grants to medium and small-scale businesses, among others.

President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Osun State, John Dike, while responding, thanked Governor Adeleke for appointing Nworie as the SSA overseeing the affairs of non-indigenes of South, Benue and Plateau states living in Osun.

He said it is the first time of having such an appointment in Osun State, which shows that the governor has the interest of non-indigenes at heart.

He, therefore, promised that Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other non-indigene groups would support Nworie and the governor in any capacity they need their support.

Leader of Tiv community, Augustine Tsor, also thanked the SSA for bringing leaders and stakeholders of non-indigenes together and suggested that there should be a regular meeting to enable them to mobilise more non-indigenes from different local councils of the state to support the governor.
