Oborevwori a symbol of unity, deserves support — Ovuakporie

As political activities gather pace ahead of the 2027 elections, Otunba Nick Ovuakporie, Executive Assistant (Political) to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has called for collective support for the governor, describing him as “a symbol of unity” and a leader committed to Delta’s progress.

Ovuakporie, who previously served as the State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta, commended party stakeholders for their continued backing and urged the public to focus on the administration’s achievements rather than on criticisms from detractors.
In a statement personally signed, he said, “Politics has reached a critical juncture, marked by the unrelenting condemnation of the visible achievements of a government that has been tirelessly working to advance the development of a state.”

Ovuakporie praised the governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda — which centres on meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms, and enhanced peace and security — as a blueprint driving the transformation of Delta State.

He said the agenda’s impact cuts across key sectors including infrastructure, healthcare, education, and human capital development, adding that “the Governor’s administration has been built on a holistic approach, prioritising need-based development and working to eradicate poverty.”

Projects highlighted by Ovuakporie include the Asaba Waterfront City, major flood control works in the state capital, and construction works at Southern University, Orerokpe Campus; the School of Health Technology, Ovrode; and the Government Technical College, Kiagbodo.

According to him, major road and drainage projects are ongoing across Asaba, Warri, Ughelli, Kwale, Agbor, and several other communities. He noted that the administration’s efforts reflect “servant leadership, integrity, transparency, accountability, foresight, and selfless dedication.”
He also pointed to the Asaba–Ogwa–Uku–Kwale–Isoko–Ughelli super highway, five flyovers, and three slipways in Warri, Effurun, Ughelli, Owian, and Agbor as evidence of what he described as the governor’s drive to modernise Delta State.

Reacting to criticisms of the administration, Ovuakporie urged citizens to reject misinformation and instead acknowledge what he called “the visible progress” under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership.

“We must therefore unequivocally condemn those who have persistently launched media attacks on the M.O.R.E. Administration from the shadows, seeking to mislead the public,” he said, urging Deltans to support the governor’s re-election bid in 2027 to consolidate the state’s ongoing development.
