Protesters in Osun promise to prevent loss of life, property

A high Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu; Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota.

The court, presided by Justice Tajudeen. A. Okunsokan, gave the order following an application brought by the Attorney-General of Ogun State. It, therefore, directed the Commissioner of Police in the state to ensure the enforcement of the ruling.

MEANWHILE, the coalition of Concerned Nigerian Citizens, the organisers of EndBadGovernance protest, yesterday, urged all Nigerians to join the nationwide demonstration against hunger and hardship in the country, assuring that it would be more coordinated.

They said that mechanisms had been put in place to guarantee the security of life and property of innocent citizens, stressing that the nationwide protest would be devoid of any form of attack.

The spokesperson of the group, Adetunji Ajala, said that the October protest tagged: “National Day of Survival,” was necessitated by the refusal of the federal and state governments to address the widespread hardship in the country. Ajala urged Nigerians to prove to governments that hunger is becoming unbearable by joining the protest from October 1 across the country.
