Ogudu Rotary fetes senior citizens

To mitigate effects of the stay-at-home order by the Federal Government to curtail the spread of COVID-19, the Rotary Club of Ogudu GRA, District 9110, Nigeria, recently brought succour to inmates of the Old People’s Home, Onike-Yaba, Lagos.

It was a day of joy for the senior citizens, as the club members visited and donated relief materials to cushion the effect of pandemic on them.

At the event, the management and staff of the home were full of appreciation for members of the club for the gesture.

The home is for senior citizens, aged 60 years and above. The oldest man at the home is 110 years while the oldest woman is 105.

Responding, the senior citizen thanked the club for the gesture and urged other clubs, kind-hearted Nigerians and corporate organisations to emulate the Rotary Club.

Items donated include, bags of rice, tubers of yam, cartons of bottled water, cartons of noodles, and toiletries, among others.

The team, led by the President, Vivian Ohiaeri, also had Past Assistant Governor, Bala Yesufu; past President, Aliyu Umaru; President-elect, Chibuzor Okpala; Wasiu Paramole and Adeniyi Adetunji.
