Oil theft: PINL dismantles 500 illegal oil bunkering flashpoints
The Rivers State Ex-Agitators Network for Development (REAND) has commended the Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) for dismantling over 500 illegal oil bunkering flash points across Cross River, Abia, Rivers, and other oil-producing states in the Niger Delta region.
REAND President, Henry Itazi, who disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja at a world press conference, noted that PINL’s efforts serve as a testimonial to their resolute commitment to restore dignity to the Nigerian energy sector and strengthen its overall integrity.
According to Itazi, PINL’s actions underline its crucial role in safeguarding Nigeria’s critical resources and enhancing the sustainability of the energy industry, adding that the body’s efforts will help the government achieve the target of 3 million barrels per day.
According to the ex-agitator, the company has not only safeguarded the nation’s most valuable natural resource but has also positively influenced Nigeria’s crude oil production capacity. The company maintains that the reduction in pipeline breaches has directly contributed to the increase in production, allowing the country to recover much-needed production volumes.
He said that the PINL’s strategic approach to pipeline security has been instrumental in stabilizing the oil sector and ensuring that Nigeria’s crude oil output continues to rise steadily.
Itazi urged President Bola Tinubu to maintain patronage of PINL, noting that it is crucial to Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to enhance energy security, promote economic growth, and drive the nation towards greater self-sufficiency in its energy needs.
